Patronising Statement from EFL

The EFL statement issued last night was either written by a 12 year old or a moron or possibly both. According to the EFL website there are 5 , yes FIVE people employed on PR and Communications including a Communications Director called Mark Rowan who allowed this statement to be issued. The League will not provide a running commentary on this matter but will update as appropriate”.

If Mark was working for me , he’d be in for a very uncomfortable day.

What a disgraceful and patronising statement from the people who are supposed to be the custodians of the League. They are talking about an institution which is 115 years old and beloved by its community. The club is being threatened with expulsion, extinction and we want a meaningful statement every day, twice a day if necessary not when the EFL deems fit to drop a crumb in our laps.

Also, we want to know exactly what more information is required from our supposed owners, we want to know exactly when they have to supply it by and we want to know exactly what is going to happen when they fail to supply it.

The EFL is there to serve the clubs and their communities and to tell them clearly what is going on with their community clubs not to sidle up or pussy foot around with the sensitivities of potential owners – people who in Charlton’s case are clearly not fit to own a football club, a fact that was obvious 6 months ago , 5 months ago , 4 months ago , 3 months ago ………..and so on.

The EFL is clearly a shambles in every respect.

  1. I recently forgot to pay my annual garden waste removal fee and my bin was left on the path un-emptied
On renewing by phone I was told I was emailed the renewal…..I was not……and a note was in my annual council tax statement…..I didn’t see it.
I was then told my bin would not be emptied until my bin sticker arrived…..2/3 weeks so 2 more missed collections.
Ok but can I have a discount for the 2 months when no bins were collected due to covid….no.
You’ll Just have to wait I was told.

This must be what its like dealing with the EFL.
Complete disregard for the customer and the repercussions of statements.
A manic compliance to “the process” and a jobsworth mentality.
A public sector mentality at its worst.

CAFC must be very close to going bankrupt but let’s just wait and follow the process…..
