Thomas Sandgaard is a Proper Bloke

I did the 9.5 mile Upbeats walk on Saturday with a couple of lifelong mates and it was great fun. The weather was kind, the company was great, we had loads of laughs and at the end of it all we raised a fair few quid for the Upbeats. We took a slightly extended trip at the end to finish at The Rose of Denmark rather than The Valley which seemed sensible ……..Walking is good for the body and soul !

We all know that the most important thing in running a football club is getting results on the pitch and this has certainly been a difficult season of under performance. I guess its no consolation that other big clubs like Portsmouth and Sunderland and big spenders too Ipswich have also struggled regardless of fan expectations. Thomas will need to be planning with his team for a much better performance next season.

However, when we reached the half way point of the walk on Saturday, outside Charlton Lido, who is there handing out the water bottles – its our owner, Thomas Sandgaard with his partner,Raelynn. You have to give the guy credit, he is a proper bloke who embraces every aspect of the club and is putting lots of hours and money and personal goodwill into running the football club. He is to be applauded and thanked for that.

He knows that he will only be in real credit with the fan base if he gets us out of this terrible division. But he is trying hard and he cares a lot. Let’s hope we get a better squad for next season with fewer injuries and the club gets a bit of luck because we’ve had a long fallow period and we deserve it and so does Thomas. As the kids say – Respect !

  1. Getting a proper manager would be a good start.
The recruitment (or loan) is only as good as its part – and Jackson has proved he is not that.

  2. Many of us are top blokes too but also many do many things behind the scenes quietly for CAFC and the world at large.
Yes, I think his heart is in the right place but concerned about some of the recent additions from people way down the football pyramid and wondering where we going to get real change or quality with just 5 permanent signings and those loanees again!!
Also, believe those few better players may well leave and yes including those on contracts and we all know they are not worth the paper they are written on.
At the end of the day, it is what is done on the pitch and believe JJ should be given the tools but not entirely convinced he is going to be allowed to bring in his own players!!1
Reminds me of the previous Owner?
And if he has a really bad start next season can see JJ will be shown the door.
WE all want him to succeed but not just with 3 5 2 as simply we have not enough players to play this one tactic.
He needs to have plan B, let alone Plan C
We shall see in due course.

  3. Credit to TS for saving the club, I may sound repetitive but that’s soon forgotten by some.
re players , my dream is that we build a team for the Championship not just a team to get out of this division.

  4. In my opinion the next 3-4 months, not 3-4 years will show us what is happening with our club. If things don’t move forward now it will be more of the same next season.
I want to buy a season ticket but I will hold back until I know what’s happening.
It’s my club and I will always support them but I will pick what games I go to.
I have nothing but respect for the man who saved our club and I hope we make a big push forward. The next 3-4 months will tell us.

  5. I like drivin meself n they tried to stop us doin it rahnd ere but we put an end to it when they ad to scrap all them LTNs cos there for the well off rahnd ere.
I reckon JJ is doin a great job. Funny ow peole forget where ourn were under Adkins, likely to go dahn. JJ is learnin all the time e aint an experienced gaff like Adkins was to juss let im get on with it, after all Curbs would always say we’ve juss gottta get on with it , thass juss wot I think n all on ere.
